Therapy and Services

Mental Health

I am committed to creating a supportive, non-judgmental environment in which we can work together to identify your goals, address any challenging symptoms or behaviors, and enhance your sense of meaning, enjoyment, and overall well-being.

With experience in a range of issues such as eating disorders, body image concerns, depression, anxiety, trauma, personality disorders, sleep difficulties, workplace stress, burnout, and relationship challenges, I tailor our work to fit your unique needs and preferences. We can explore various approaches as appropriate, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based techniques, and Schema Therapy. I also incorporate strategies from positive psychology to help you not only manage mental health concerns, but also boost overall happiness and well-being.

Climate Anxiety and Ecopsychology

In our rapidly changing world, awareness of climate change’s far-reaching impacts can often lead to feelings of anxiety and distress. Climate anxiety, or climate distress, refers to the emotional responses and psychological challenges people experience as they confront the reality of environmental threats, such as extreme weather events, ecological loss, and our uncertain future. This distress can manifest as worry, grief, or even despair about the state of the planet and what's ahead.

Ecopsychology offers a compassionate framework for addressing these feelings, exploring the profound connection between mental health and the natural environment. By integrating psychological principles with ecological awareness, I use ecopsychology to foster healing and resilience through a deeper understanding of humanity's relationship with the Earth. This approach supports individuals in navigating climate distress by promoting personal growth, environmental stewardship, and a sense of hope in the face of global challenges.

Support for Health Professionals

Health professionals often work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments that demand exceptional levels of dedication and resilience. The intense nature of these roles can lead to burnout, compassion fatigue, and other mental health challenges. Unfortunately, stigma surrounding the idea of seeking support can make it difficult for those in the healthcare field to address their own needs.

With experience working therapeutically with nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, both during their training and throughout their professional lives, I bring a deep understanding of these unique challenges to the therapeutic space. I commit to creating a supportive, non-judgmental environment where health professionals can openly explore and address their mental health concerns. By offering a safe space for reflection and growth, strategies are provided to manage burnout, alleviate compassion fatigue, and support overall wellbeing, ensuring that those who care for others can also care for themselves.

Performance

Achieving optimal performance is often the focus for many individuals navigating high-pressure situations, whether it’s excelling at work, achieving athletic goals, or pursuing personal growth. Effective performance management involves more than just skill development; it also encompasses understanding and managing how cognitions, anxiety, and overall mental health impact one’s abilities. Through evidence-based techniques, together we can explore strategies to assist in recognising and overcoming mental barriers, enhancing focus, and building resilience. By addressing the psychological aspects of performance, individuals can achieve their goals, improve their outcomes, and find greater satisfaction in their pursuits.

Forest Therapy

With its roots in Japan, shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, has emerged as a globally recognised practice for enhancing both physiological and psychological well-being. This therapeutic approach encourages mindful and immersive engagement with natural environments, offering a range of benefits supported by scientific research.

As a certified forest therapy guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy, I have experience in leading both group and individual forest therapy walks and programs. Forest therapy aims to foster a profound connection with nature, creates space for individuals to take a break from their fast-paced world, and allows time for reflection and growth. By working collaboratively with individuals, I aim to integrate nature-based experiences into everyday life, addressing barriers to engagement in relaxation and self-care, and promoting restorative rest.

Supervision

Board-approved supervision is available for provisional and early career psychologists seeking support and guidance on their professional journey. Having completed the 4+2 internship pathway myself before pursuing a Clinical Masters, I have firsthand experience and understanding regarding the challenges and requirements of the internship process.

Whilst I am able to offer primary and secondary supervision for remaining 4+2 and 5+1 provisional psychologists, I am only able to offer secondary supervision to Clinical Masters and PhD students at this time. I am passionate about supporting emerging professionals to develop their skills, gain insights, and advance their careers in the field of psychology.
